Winnie the Pooh Day – Celebrating A.A. Milne’s Birthday
A.A. Milne is a children’s author who is best known for Winnie the Pooh stories. Winnie is an adorable bear, who is partial to honey and who is a loyal and faithful friend to Piglet. A whole host of other characters appears in a collection of stories based around Christopher Robin and the Hundred Acre Wood. Christopher Robin was based on A. A. Milne’s own son and the stories reflect all the adventures that Christopher and his toy animals would get up to.
A.A. Milne was born on 18th January 1882 and wrote poetry and short stories for children. Before he wrote about the famous bear ‘with little brain’ he was a noted writer and playwright.
We enjoy playing pooh sticks, bouncing about like tiggers and love cuddling up like Kanga and Roo. So it seemed appropriate to celebrate A.A. Milne’s birthday with other writers from around the globe. Join us as we explore, craft, create and make. As we read and laugh and learn all about Winnie the Pooh and his wonderful friends in the Hundred Acre Woods!
