How to Make a Simple Jingle Bells Christmas Ornament

Looking for a simple craft for your kids this Christmas?  Want something that is quick and easy for them to make?  Peakles and I share our simple Jingle Bells Christmas Ornament with only four materials!

There is something very festive about the sound of jingling bells at Christmas time and Peakles is not the only child who loves them.  When Peakles wanted to make a Christmas ornament we thought about all the things that we usually hang around the home.  We talked about our favourites and Peakles loves a giant jingle bell that we usually hang on the large tree in our home.  Peakles asked if we could make our own jingle bells and we hunted through our craft area for some simple materials!

Jingle Bells Christmas Ornament

Materials and Equipment We Needed

gold or silver paper      gold or silver thread

craft bells or cat toy bells      glue or sticky dots

pencil      scissors

compass or round item to draw around

How We Made Our Jingle Bells Ornament

We took our gold paper and drew some circles on it.  Peakles and I then used our scissors to carefully cut around our circles.  Next, we folded our circles in half so that we had two gold sides.

We then made a cone out of the semi-circle with a small gap at the top.  Peakles took some sticky dots and placed them on one-half of the straight edge to secure our cone shape.  This will be the body of the jingle bell.

Peakles selected some small bells and we threaded the gold thread through them.  After helping Peakles to tie some tight knots, we placed the bell on the thread inside our cone.  We pushed the gold thread through the top of the cone.

Finally, we tied all four threads together to make our jingle bells ornament to hang on the tree!
